Description
9x12" Reduction Monotype
(ignore the blurs on the side, I scanned it)
I wanted to do something different. I usually prefer to render animals and almost always use some type of reference. Well, I wanted to push myself just a bit more. So using at three different references (photographs, and digital artwork for some inspiration) I did what my teacher calls it a "mental collage" (and that I should do that more often, haha). I had a vision in my head, but took pieces of my references to create it. And this was the end result.
The process to create this was pretty simple; roll ink onto a piece of Plexiglas and take some of it off to create an image. (I mainly used a q-tip). And then you roll it though a press with some printing paper and voila. That part's a little more complex, but that's the gist of it.
Overall I'm pretty happy with this. The reflection is very incorrect for there being two moons in the sky but I don't care. It still makes me happy.
